Band Biography for abercion:

Abercion are a young 5 piece melodic/groove metal-core band from Birmingham, England.
Formed in 2008 by guitarists Matt Morgan and Alex Bohemia when they were only 15, the pair became eager for new young and talented musicians to accompany them in creating a new, unique edge on the Metal scene.
Fellow class-mate Matthew Spurrier was recruited to do lead vocals, due to his excellent range of vocal talent, providing the driving force needed to create the band’s sound.
After several drummers and bassists, Ben Newton joined the force to provide a tight and precise drumming technique that was much needed for the style of music.
Reliable bassists were proving hard to find, especially after two different bassists dropped out in the space of around two months. Matt Kirby was with the band for just over a year until it became clear to him that he had his own life to lead. After a highly eventful few months of gigs, second bassist Sean Doyle left the band to concentrate on other matters. The band was left one member down after a successful round 2 of Surface Unsigned. That was until young Alex Downey joined, bringing a fresh new array of talent to Abercion.
Taking heavy influence from bands such as Killswitch Engage, As I lay Dying and Deftones, Abercion create that much desired and unique sound of lyrical ballads and instrumental carnage which must be heard to be believed.
Abercion are currently tearing up the Birmingham gig scene with their fresh, young talent and passion for music. Their live show is where it all kicks off, adrenaline pumping and moshes breaking out spontaneously!
The band is currently working on their debut Album entitled ‘Rise’, which is scheduled for release in summer 2010 so keep a keen eye and ear out for Abercion, who hope to take Birmingham and hopefully the UK by storm in the upcoming future.
