Band Biography for heights:

There is more than one artist with this name:

1) Heights are a five-piece band hailing from Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom, playing their own brand of metal and hardcore with epic overtones.

Forming in late 2009 and with an average age of just 20 the band has made great leaps in their short existence. The release of their debut E.P as a free online download saw the band take their music to a wide audience all across the UK and gain critical acclaim with the tracks being hailed as “massive reverberating grooves”, “a good wall of sound” and “soaring, multi-layered progressive/posthardcore” by Metal Hammer, Rocksound and Terrorizer magazines respectively.

The bands hard working ethics saw them embarking on numerous DIY tours up and down the UK, playing shows where ever and whenever they could, gaining them a reputation as an exciting and unpredictable live act. Their recent Download Festival appearance was described as a “passionate performance, 4/5” by Big Cheese Magazine.

Now on the roster of Enterprise Music Management, Realistic Management in North America and freshly signed to Small Town Records Heights are taking it up a gear in the latter half of 2010 and all the way into 2011. By the end of the summer the band will have played at Download, T in the Park, Sonisphere, Underage and Hevy festivals and will be hitting the road in November with Flood Of Red and Australia’s House Vs Hurricane. Coupled with a collection of their own shows all over the country and the recording of their first album Heights find themselves in the thick of things.

Heading into 2011, the band will be releasing their album and touring extensively, including a run of dates in Asia in January.

2) Heights are a 3 piece instrumental band from Wokingham in the United Kingdom
Starting in late 2006, 3 friends started jaming and realised an immediate chemistry and musical cohesion, went on to form "heights". 2007 saw a progression in the band's vision and musical outlooks. With a view to create something honest and unique, with an emphasis on progression and themes rather than traditional songwriting formulas. In Summer 2008 Heights recorded what they felt represented some of their best material so far in form of a 14 track album entitled "salvation and trepidation". In Winter 2008 Heights recorded a 2 track EP.

The band's new album, "From Sea To Sky" is out in the form of CD, exclusively available at gigs. And will be available online from August 2010.
