Band Biography for the red pills:

Formed in September 2008, The Red Pills are Captain Mayhem, Major Layoff, Private Parts & General Ignorance. They are currently assaulting the West Yorkshire music scene with their catchy brand of punk 'n' roll and trademark vigorous performances.

Originally called The Plastic Circus, the band attempted to find a new name that would encapsulate the new band ethos that arose from the addition of two new members. Names that were considered included 'The Naughty Gentlemen', 'Dresden Jesus' and 'Doctor Blasphemy.' Eventually they settled on 'The Red Pills' due to the consequences of taking a Red Pill in the 1999 movie 'The Matrix.'

The Red Pills released their first EP - ‘Awakening’ in March 2009, with the fifth track ‘Smile For Me Jenny’ twice being played on Alan Raw’s BBC Raw Talent show.

The Red Pills recently created a special edition ‘Doctor Who’ themed single called 'Bigger On The Inside' and a second EP - ‘Missiles’ was released on February 5th 2010.

They have now begun to work on their first full album, a concept album featuring sixteen all new songs.

The band are:
Tom 'Captain Mayhem' Hey - Vocals
Nick 'Major Layoff' Shakhlevich - Guitar
Freddie 'Private Parts' - Bass
Jimmy 'General Ignorance'' G - Drums
