Sandinista!, Leeds
5 Cross Belgrave Street
Leeds
LS2 8JP

Cleverly tucked away off the main shopping street in the city centre of Leeds, Sandinista! offers the perfect place to meet for those wanting something a bit different.
Highly influenced by the culture of Central America, Sandinista! illustrates this theme throughout the bar’s décor, artwork and Latin and English inspired food and drink. Its unique ethos and ambience, also demonstrated through its name which is inspired by the revolutionary movement in Nicaragua in the early 1980’s and the subsequent Clash album, makes it an unusual, yet interesting place to get together.
The cantina style restaurant is a haven of rustic settings, colour washed walls and revolutionary iconography and is certainly one of a kind. It serves some of the best cocktails in Leeds, with the house favourite being the infamous Mojito, and was one of the first bars in Leeds to serve Peroni on tap. The extensive drinks list is perfectly accompanied by the Latin and English inspired tapas dishes on offer.
Sandinista! is all about providing a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere; upon arrival you are greeted by some of Leeds’ finest bartenders and are immediately made to feel welcome, making it the perfect sanctuary to chat informally with clients, without the pressures of over-anxious staff.
With complimentary newspapers, board games and a music policy that features an eclectic mix of rock n’ roll, funk and soul, Sandinista effortlessly attracts Leeds’ movers, shakers and creative aficionados. If you’re after an alternative to the usual corporate eateries, this is definitely worth a visit!
