Moving Air in Leeds
Tuesday 6th November 2018
Traditional and contemporary Irish music, a smattering of ballad-inspired original songs, and even Klezmer all paired with a close harmony quartet mainly in the barbershop style – an unusual but exciting combination.
Moving Air have been together more than 20 years in various guises with Martin on guitar and vocals, Paul all sorts of wind (and he plays instruments) together with vocals and harmonies, Pete mandolin, mandola, bass and vocals, and Mike guitar, bodhran and vocals.
The four guys in Waikikamukau (if you come along you’ll get to hear what that’s all about) are members of one of the UK’s top barbershop choruses and they sing a wide variety of specially arranged songs from ballads to jazz, pop to gospel. Straw hats and striped blazers definitely not making an appearance.
The evening is sure to bring broad appeal, and we look forward to meeting friends old and new.
Donations on the door. Suggested £3 – £5 but no one turned away for lack of funds.
We have live music in Assembly Bar + Kitchen every Tuesday night from 8.00 – 10.15pm (approx).
ABK closing time 10.30pm.
