Sifaka Sessions #003 is an indoor festival taking place on the 31st of May bringing together some of the best live music from across the Leeds music-scene. Taking over Leeds' most exciting venue - The Hyde Park Book Club - the event will also include galleries and displays of local artists, as well as specially curated food and drink. Expect big riffs, funky beats and tasty treats.
Sifaka Sessions #003 builds on the success of sold out Sifaka Sessions #001 & #002. These events saw various Leeds bands (The Seagulls, Kumiko, Engine, Sifaka) play fantastic sets to packed out audiences.
The line-up for Sifaka Sessions #003 is seriously big - showcasing some of the finest musical and song-writing talent in Leeds at the moment:
Since forming in 2014 Sifaka have become an integral part of the vibrant Leeds music scene. Dubbed 'Rock N' Soul' their sound is raw, powerful and straight from the heart, sitting at
the crossroads between the soulful sounds of Alabama Shakes and the heavy blues of Led Zeppelin.
Their mesmerising live show is a sweat-soaked rollercoaster of infectious grooves and soaring solos. At any one moment their music travels through Mardis Gras, CBGB's in downtown New York and 60's London.
Following on from a year supporting Kaiser Chiefs and Pete Doherty, and Imarhan and Melt Yourself down at the Brudenell Social Club the band have released three singles over the summer to critical acclaim.
Pablo's Paintings look to focus simple melodies through crooked lenses. The resulting off kilter pop, nods to the avant guard, psychedelia and folk at times, but never drifts too far from a hook.
Inspired by Picasso's quote "action is the foundational key to all success", Pablo's Paintings began working together in early 2018, with no particular aim, other than to create an outlet for dormant ideas. Since, they have developed a sound that taps into a rich history of melodic song-writing and developed a keen DIY work ethic, self-recording and producing all of their early output.

Shaku welcomes you all! We are a six-piece band hailing from all four corners of the globe that spearhead the genre we like to call "Frog Rock" and want nothing more than your undivided enjoyment!
Felka are Rose Wheeler and Tanisha Badman; "poplicious folk duo" with "brazen lyrics and lush harmonies" hailing from the rolling hills of West Yorkshire. Since forming in 2014, they have appeared on the infamous Sofar Sounds in London, York, Nottingham and twice for homecomings show in Leeds.
Championed by BBC Introducing, they are played by the station on a regular basis. Gig accolades include playing Millennium Square in Leeds for Under The Owls Festival and supporting Martin Barre from Jethro Tull, Samantha Fish (U.S), Keiran Leonard, Baka Beyond and Wildwood Kin. The name is taken from a second World War novel, 'Portrait of a Young Forger'. The non-fictional character Felka's act of self-sacrifice to save her missing brother Adek struck a chord with the two musicians as both beautiful and heroic.
Bolstered by a new rhythm section, the band spent time with legendary producer Andy Hawkins recording three brand new tracks in a converted chapel. "Best Friends Bike", "Reoccurring Dream" and "Hourglass" will be released throughout 2018.
