Home Assembly & Let's go baboon present a night of beats, electronics, hip-hop and techno from the Home Assembly label.
Headlining is MALK, beatmaker of Philadelphia hip-hop trio Mahatma X. As MALK his 2018 album Death From A Love won the coveted Norman Records album of the year award and Mahatma X have slowly been gaining popularity through their J. Dillla/Madlib inspired mixtapes. This is his only UK show.
Supporting is an extremely rare outing for Bracken who is the shadowy alter ego of Chris Adams from Leeds post-rock legends Hood. Bracken plays woozy hip-hop and electronica reminiscent of Bibio and Flying Lotus and sometimes (if you are lucky) with Chris's distinctive voice over the top.
Another Home Assembly mainstay is A New Line (Related) who is housing officer Andrew Johnson from Accrington. Formerly with Hood, Famous Boyfriend and Remote Viewer he plays lamplit techno and dub house in the manner of Chain Reaction, Gescom and Pole.
The only act not on Home Assembly is Western Edges but their founder Richard Adams has a long and storied history on the label with his main band the Declining Winter. Western Edges is his electronica and dub techno side project and this is their first ever (and possibly last) show.
