Marrying the immersive story-songs of Anaïs Mitchell and Andy Shauf with the fluid dexterity of guitar players such as Scott Matthews and The Tallest Man On Earth, Leeds-based singer/songwriter Harry Orme has crafted a catalogue of songs that are as lyrically moving as they are mesmerising in their intricacy. These songs have kept him in good company he's opened for world-renowned songwriters across the indie-folk spectrum, including Big Thief, Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Scott Matthews, Tiny Ruins and Ciaran Lavery.
Inspired by voyages to the Outer Hebrides, tales of ancient Celtic Goddesses and great folk singers from Peggy Seegar to Joni Mitchell, Georgie Buchanan is a unique singer and harpist on the contemporary folk scene. Since immersing herself in the folk world shes performed with Show of Hands on the main stage of Sidmouth Folk Festival, been selected for Sound and Musics highly competitive New Voices Programme and had one of her original songs Love is a Rocking Wave played on The Nest Collectives Singing with Nightingales, Homecoming Broadcast hosted by Sam Lee. Georgie has most recently been selected to take part in the English Folk Expos Artist Mentoring Programme and has performed at FOCUS Wales and Cambridge Folk festival 2022. This year she has supported renowned folk acts Ye Vagabonds, Katherine Priddy and John Francis Flynn.
Her upcoming album Wise as a Fool will be a unique collaboration with incredible Leeds based artists Emma Coleman (Me and My Friends), Rob Mackay (Drymbago), Evan Davies (The Often Herd), Joel Stedman and Joe Love (Ancient Infinity Orchestra). Working with this talented band, Georgie crafts haunting musical landscapes of acapella harmonies and shimmering instrumentals. Interweaving traditional melodies with original compositions, songs and stories, Georgies music speaks of a heartfelt connection with the natural world and charts a personal story of recovery that is relatable at its core.
Leeds-based singer Alice Kim has lent her soulful, refined vocal talents to a huge range of projects over the last 5 years. With electro-dream ensemble Hunrosa and funk-pop powerhouse New Position she has performed at a long list of legendary UK venues (XOYO, London Jazz Cafe, Band on the Wall, Belgrave Music Hall, the Wardrobe). Working with her favourite musicians across the North, Alice Kim has distilled her own unique blend of soul, folk and electro-pop, and is currently in the process of channeling this distinctive sound into her debut EP.
