Weekly Newsletter - w/c Monday 16 February
It's another fantastic week for live music across Leeds, with a diverse range of sounds and scenes ready to entertain you. Whether you're looking for a midweek pick-me-up or a weekend wind-down, there's something happening to suit every taste.
This Week's Highlights
Kicking off the week on Monday, you can ease into it with the always welcoming Open Mic at Northern Guitars – a great place to discover new talent or even get up on stage yourself.
Tuesday looks like a particularly busy one. For those who like their tunes with a bit of grit, Bass Drum of Death are hitting the Brudenell Social Club, promising a return to their roots. If country and Americana are more your speed, then Kezia Gill brings her All In Red Tour to the same venue. Over at The Domino Club, it's time for their Big Fat Domino Live Music Quiz, a perfect blend of tunes and trivia.
Midweek brings more variety. Wednesday sees the return of Cory Hanson to the Brudenell, alongside the heavy sounds of Crowbar. For something a bit different, PLANTOID are playing at Oporto, and if you're after a unique Valentine's cabaret, Bottom Actually at Northern Guitars sounds like a treat.
As we head towards the weekend, Thursday is packed. Get ready for the indie vibes of Pool Kids and Wavves at the Brudenell, while Courtney Marie Andrews brings her GRAMMY-nominated talent to the same spot. Down at Headrow House, PVA are set to deliver their experimental sound.
Friday and Saturday are your classic weekend gig nights. You've got everything from a Tasha Leaper as Madonna tribute at the Brudenell, to the energetic ska revival of Death of Guitar Pop at The Warehouse. The Brudenell continues its strong showing with A Band Called Malice and the much-loved Maximo Park at O2 Academy Leeds. Saturday sees the return of Cold War Kids to The Wardrobe, and for a poignant farewell, don't miss the final show from Leeds punk stalwarts The Swindells at The Lending Room.
Sunday wraps up the week with the Leeds Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival at the Brudenell, featuring the excellent Aynsley Lister.
Just Announced
Looking ahead, there are some exciting additions to the diary that are worth marking down. For fans of a certain iconic indie band, get ready for The Killers/Arctic Monkeys Tributes Killaz UK/Arctic Roll at the Irish Centre on Saturday 3rd October 2026.
If you're into the more atmospheric side of things, keep an eye out for Ambient Leeds: Ben Eyes who has a whole string of dates at the Fox & Newt throughout June 2026. And for a taste of what's to come next spring, the energetic synth-pop duo The Itch are playing Headrow House on Friday 8th May 2026, celebrating their debut album.
There's always something happening in Leeds, so get out there, support your local venues, and enjoy the incredible live music scene we have on our doorstep.
