The summer heat is lingering, and so is that brilliant sense of energy across Leeds’ music scene. Whether you’re looking to lose yourself in a basement folk club or catch a massive open-air show at the Abbey, this week is packed with enough variety to keep your ears busy from Monday through to Sunday.

This Week’s Highlights

Folk and Acoustic Vibes If you’re in the mood for something intimate, Tuesday night at Hyde Park Book Club is the place to be for the Les Caravanes Folk Club. Inspired by the 60s folk scene, it’s bringing together some truly gifted fingerstyle guitarists and experimental ballad singers. For those who prefer a more participatory vibe, Northern Guitars continues to be the city’s most welcoming spot for their Open Mic on Monday and Jam Night on Tuesday.

The Weekend Lineup Friday looks particularly stacked. If you want to celebrate a new release, Parts & Spares are bringing their indie-folk blend to the Hyde Park Book Club, while The Maccabees are set to take over the stunning Kirkstall Abbey. If you’re feeling a bit more nostalgic, The Old Woollen is hosting a David Bowie 50th Anniversary Discotheque—definitely worth dusting off your dancing shoes for.

Saturday brings a huge contrast, from the hip-hop prowess of Loyle Carner at the Abbey to the raw, high-energy sounds of Wolfbastard over at Boom.

Just Announced

It’s always a good idea to look ahead, and we’ve had some cracking shows added to the calendar recently. If you like your music with a bit of a theatrical edge, Gabriella Cilmi will be at Hyde Park Book Club on Thursday 19th November 2026.

For the metalheads, Alestorm are bringing their unique brand of chaos to the O2 Academy Leeds on Wednesday 20th January 2027. Closer to home, SANS SOLIS are celebrating their EP launch at Hyde Park Book Club on Friday 11th September 2026, which promises to be a powerful evening.

Finally, keep an eye out for Weetwood Mac at the Brudenell Social Club—they’ve announced a run of dates in the lead-up to Christmas, starting on Thursday 17th December 2026.
